EASL’s website serves many functions, including providing information on substantive areas of law, announcing upcoming events, and highlighting the work of EASL’s committees. Phil Cowan Memorial Scholarship
Law students, take note of this publishing and scholarship opportunity: The Entertainment, Arts & Sports Law Section of the New York State Bar Association (EASL) has established the Phil Cowan Memorial Scholarship! Created in memory of Cowan, an esteemed entertainment lawyer and a former Chair of EASL, the Phil Cowan Memorial Scholarship fund offers up to two awards of $2,500 each on an annual basis in Phil Cowan’s memory to a law student who is committed to a practice concentrating in one or more areas of entertainment, art or sports law.
Phil Cowan Memorial Scholarship
The Phil Cowan Memorial Scholarship (PC Scholarship), established in memory of former EASL Section Chair Phil Cowan, sponsors an annual writing competition open to law students in all accredited law school throughout New York State, along with Rutgers and Seton Hall, as well as a number of other law schools on a rotating basis throughout the United States.
Music Committee
The Music Committee seeks to educate both legal practitioners and non-lawyers on the complex and ever-evolving issues that arise in the music industry.
