Leaders from
the academic, corporate and non-profit worlds will speak at the New York State Bar
Association (NYSBA) Task Force on Autonomous Vehicles panel meeting on
September 17 & 18 to discuss issues related to regulatory and safety law
and policy. Both panel meetings will be livestreamed for the public starting at
5:00 p.m.
Carlos
Cardillo, Ph.D, director,
Nevada Center for Applied Research, University of Nevada and Brad Stertz,
co-chair, Partners for Automated Vehicle Education, will speak on Tuesday.
Ryan Chin,
CEO and co-founder,
Optimus Ride, and Amitai Bin-Nun, vice president of Autonomous Vehicles,
Securing America’s Future Energy (SAFE), will speak on Wednesday.
This
groundbreaking task force, tasked
with studying the impact autonomous vehicles will have on the legal system and
society, met in August and
got a firsthand look at autonomous vehicle technology at the University at
Buffalo.
Viewers will
be allowed to ask questions of the presenter and panelists in the chat feature
on the livestreaming platform. Chats will be monitored by a moderator.
