Rona
G. Shamoon is a member-at-large on the Executive Committee.
Ms.
Shamoon is an independent neutral specializing in commercial arbitration and
early neutral evaluation. She is a former litigator at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher
& Flom LLP where she was a member of the International Arbitration Group
and the General Counsel’s Office.
Ms.
Shamoon is a former Chair of the NYSBA Dispute Resolution Section, a former
chair of the Sections Caucus, and a member of the NYSBA House of
Delegates. She is also a member of the NYSBA Membership and CLE Committees.
Ms.
Shamoon is a panelist on the Commercial Arbitration Panel of the American
Arbitration Association and has served on
advisory committees for a number of dispute resolution organizations, including
the National Advisory Committee on Large, Complex, Commercial Cases of the
American Arbitration Association and the Arbitration and Program Committees of
the CPR International Institute for Dispute Resolution. She is the author of numerous articles on
Dispute Resolution and was a contributing author to The CPR Corporate Counsel
Manual for Cross-Border Dispute Resolution.
Ms. Shamoon graduated Summa Cum Laude from Pace University
School of Law and from Barnard College.
In 2009, Ms. Shamoon was a recipient of the Cornerstone Award from the
Lawyer's Alliance for her outstanding pro bono service.
