Students from Roosevelt High School examining a witness.
The program took place on Friday, March 9th at Hofstra Law School, and about 70 high school students from various schools in the Nassau/Long Island area participated in this event. This is the 3rd Youth Law Day (YLD) program the Committee on Diversity and Inclusion has hosted this year in partnership with various NYC/NY State law schools. The purpose of the YLD program (diversity pipeline program) is to provide high school students with a sense of the law school experience, and to reduce the mystery or sense of unattainability that might be associated with it. The centerpiece is an interactive classroom experience led by law-school faculty. The inaugural program was held at Fordham Law School in fall 2006.
