The Continuing Legal Education Committee strives
to provide and ensure that new and experienced attorneys are provided with the
most up-to-date commercial and federal litigation information through CLE
programming that is timely and informative. The Committee’s premier, one of a
kind program, entitled the Commercial Litigation Academy, was launched in 2010
and brings together practitioners, in-house counsel and judges to speak to and
teach New York attorneys a range of topics in commercial and federal
litigation. The annual Academy takes place over two days and includes
eight separate panels covering topics from inception of a commercial litigation
through trial and appeal. The committee also facilitates and oversees
multiple other CLE programming for members of the section and state bar.
The Committee on Continuing Legal Education is chaired by
Kevin J. Smith, Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton
LLP, New York City.
